Piston – Fluid End Core Wear Part of Drilling Mud Pump
The piston is a critical wear component of the fluid end in a drilling mud pump. It is mounted on the front end of the piston rod and reciprocates within the liner. Through this reciprocating motion, it converts mechanical energy into hydraulic pressure of the drilling fluid, thereby enabling the suction and discharge circulation of the drilling mud.
This piston is widely used in various applications, including:
Oil and gas drilling
Geological exploration and core drilling
Trenchless technology (horizontal directional drilling)
Piling and foundation engineering
The piston assembly is mainly composed of the following components:
Piston core / body
Sealing rubber element (rubber seal / packing)
Retainer plate / clamp plate (press plate)
Snap ring / retaining ring
Support backup ring / wear ring
