# Product Introduction: Stuffing Box The stuffing box is a core sealing assembly mounted on the fluid end of triplex mud pumps, widely used in oil drilling, geological exploration and horizontal directional trenchless construction. It surrounds the piston rod penetration position and holds packing sets, gaskets and retaining sleeves to block high-pressure abrasive mud leakage along the piston rod gap. Manufactured from high-strength alloy steel by integral forging and precision CNC machining, the stuffing box boasts strong pressure resistance and structural stability. The internal stepped cavity is precisely sized to install packing seals, forming a multi-stage sealing barrier that withstands continuous reciprocating friction of piston rods and alternating mud pressure. Built-in flushing and lubrication channels can inject clean flushing liquid to wash away sand particles between the piston rod and packing, reducing packing abrasion and preventing sand scoring on the piston rod surface. Standard bolt positioning structure ensures uniform compression of sealing components without partial leakage caused by uneven stress. The outer surface adopts shot blasting and anti-corrosion coating, resisting erosion of sand-laden drilling fluid and chemical additives in harsh open-air working conditions.
